Special Drinks for a Special Ocassion

Sir Walter’s Tavern, located in the basement of the Raleigh Playhouse & Theatre in Beckley WV, will be open for 1hr before every performance, 15 minutes during intermission, and 1hr after each performance.

Long time WV Collective member, collaborator, and all-around best-good-buddy Rod Hairston has developed a special menu featuring drinks inspired by characters in ‘A West Virginia Story’.

The Callahan

White Pumpkin toasted mulled wine made with West Virginian honey, clove and star anise.

The Bill Mudslide

Aromatic Red Blend rimmed in chocolate and nuts, named after that crazy poet guy.

Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc

Marlborough, New Zealand - A full flavored, medium-bodied wine, with an abundance of vibrand currant and gooseberry flavors, that linger on the dry, clean finish. Enjoy with pickles, pepperoni rolls, and HBO.

Risata Moscato d’Asti

Asti, Piedmont, Italy- This Moscato d'Asti is fresh, fragrant, and frizzante with vibrant, flavors and aromas of ripe stone fruit, tangerines, and honey. The wine is concentrated and flavorful, but not overly rich or heavy; sweet, yet balanced.

Conundrum

This red blend comes from the Wagner Family, makers of Caymus, and overdelivers at this price point. The nose is full of bright red fruits and luscious mix of tart raspberry and earth. The tannins are welcoming with an impressive linger and a hint of cocoa powder.
